Course description

The course provides an analysis on issues such as food security, climate change and sustainable development. The video-lectures offer a global perspective through the analysis of FAO reports and policies, and then focuse on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), a key policy in the European integration process. Milestones in the evolution of the CAP through the most important reforms will be covered, culminating in an analysis of future scenarios.

Prerequisites

No particular prerequisites are needed to attend the course.

Objectives

This module gives the opportunity to deepen core issues related to sustainable development, increasingly crucial in the EU agenda, with a specific attention on food security and climate change.

Program

This course provides an analysis of the development of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), climate change and food securityrelated issues, in the wider spectrum of sustainable development.

Exercises

At the end of this module, the student is expected to answer to open questions related to the main issues the video-lectures refer to.
